The Department of English and Related Literature at the University of York presents, 'Writers at York', a reading by John Banville.

John Banville was born in Wexford, Ireland, in 1945. His first book, Long Lankin, was published in 1970. His other books include Doctor Copernicus (winner of the James Tait Black Memorial Prize), Kepler (winner of the Guardian Fiction Prize), Ghosts, Eclipse, and Shroud. His most recent novel, The Sea, was awarded the Man Booker Prize in 2005.
